Analyst reveals US true interest in Ukrainian conflict

MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) – Russian historian, Director of the Institute for Systemic and Strategic Analysis Andrei Fursov explained the influence of the United States on the conflict in Ukraine in a recent episode of BelTA’s V Teme [On Point] project.
The historian is convinced that the special military operation has evolved into a confrontation between Russia and the West. “Although Western Europe, its ruling groups, and the United Kingdom do not share identical interests in everything, their interests fully coincide when it comes to opposing Russia. There should be no illusions here. But there is another interested party: the United States. Washington is interested in maximally escalating tensions between Western Europe and Russia so that these countries become weakened to the point where Western Europe turns into a complete appendage of the United States, and Russia’s resources cannot be used to support China in its confrontation with the USA,” he explained.

According to Andrei Fursov, the United States will continue doing everything possible to provoke further conflict between Western Europe and Russia. “At the same time, they will present themselves as a peacemaker, as the ‘good cop’. But in reality, their interest lies precisely in the conflict between Western Europe and Russia,” the analyst noted.
