Karelia gets closer: Russia’s Severstal launches third regular flight to Minsk

MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) – Russia’s Severstal Avia is steadily expanding its flight network to Minsk National Airport, the airport’s press service told BelTA.

A regular flight program on the Petrozavodsk–Minsk–Petrozavodsk route was launched on 3 May. This is the carrier’s third destination to the Belarusian capital, following Cherepovets and Kaluga.
Flights will operate on comfortable Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft with a capacity of 50 passengers. The service will run from 3 May to 13 September 2026, with a frequency of once a week on Sundays.
The Republic of Karelia is a unique region in northwestern Russia that opens up new horizons for travelers. Its picturesque nature, pristine lakes (Ladoga and Onega), the famous Ruskeala Mountain Park with its marble canyons, the Valaam Archipelago with the Stavropegic Transfiguration of the Savior Monastery, UNESCO World Heritage sites (the Kizhi Open-Air Museum), and the Kivach waterfall make Karelia an attractive destination for family, active, and eco-tourism.
“The direct flight from Minsk will let Belarusian citizens reach this region comfortably and quickly, avoiding lengthy connections,” Minsk National Airport said.
