MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) - Belarusian forward Ilya Protas of the Hershey Bears helped his team even the series in the second round of the American Hockey League playoffs, BelTA has learned.
Ilya Protas’ team is battling Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for a spot in the Calder Cup quarterfinals. The first two games of the best-of-five series were played on the opponent’s home ice. The first game on 1 May ended in a loss for Hershey (2-4), with Ilya scoring one of the goals. In the second match on 3 May, the visitors got their revenge with a 2-1 victory; the Belarusian forward recorded two assists and was named the second star of the game.
The next two games will take place in Hershey on 6 and 8 May. During the regular season, Ilya Protas was his team’s leading scorer, racking up 66 points (29 goals, 37 assists) in 69 games. In 2023, the Bears became AHL champions with the participation of Ilya’s older brother, Aliaksei Protas.
