MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – Belarus will build a lot of housing, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said while appointing Aleksandr Terekhov as Deputy Prime Minister, who will among other things oversee this sector, BelTA has learned.
“We will build a lot of housing. Just because we are scaling back [housing construction] in Minsk does not mean we will not build housing in satellite towns, especially rental housing [for people working] in agriculture, industry, and everywhere else,” the president said.
He noted that he had personally observed some construction projects that Aleksandr Terekhov oversaw while serving as director general of the state production association Minskstroy. “You know how to do everything. So we need to take this practice from the bottom up and act,” the head of state emphasized.
