MINSK, 29 April (BelTA) – The government has specified how much fruit and vegetable products stabilization funds are supposed to supply in order to satisfy republican state needs during the off-season period of 2026/2027, the Belarusian government’s press service told BelTA.
The corresponding resolution has been signed by Prime Minister of Belarus Aleksandr Turchin.
A total of 147,160 tonnes of fruit and vegetable products are supposed to be put into storage, including 111,570 tonnes for retail chains and 35,590 tonnes for social sector institutions.
The resolution specifies the following targets: fresh table potatoes – 59,690 tonnes, fresh white cabbage – 22,360 tonnes, fresh red beet – 9,710 tonnes, fresh table carrots – 15,440 tonnes, bulb onions – 14,960 tonnes, and fresh apples – 25,000 tonnes.
“The volumes to be stored have been reconciled with the oblast administrations and the Minsk City Executive Committee taking into account the actual sales (consumption) in the current off-season period of 2025/2026 and preliminary proposals received from trade organizations for the off-season period of 2026/2027,” the press service noted.
