Belarusian ambassador visits Bangladesh to strengthen bilateral ties

MINSK, 29 April (BelTA) – During a working visit to Bangladesh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to India and Bangladesh concurrently Mikhail Kasko met with representatives of the government of Bangladesh, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in India.

The ambassador held talks with several high-ranking Bangladeshi officials, including Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, adviser to the prime minister with the rank of minister, overseeing the Finance Ministry and the Planning Ministry of Bangladesh; Bangladesh’s Fisheries, Livestock and Agriculture Minister Mohammed Aminur Rashid and Bangladesh’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam.

During the meetings, the parties discussed in detail the state and prospects of Belarusian-Bangladeshi cooperation. They noted the continuity of friendly relations between Minsk and Dhaka and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening these ties.

Priority areas of work for the near term were identified. The parties also touched upon issues related to improving and expanding the bilateral legal framework in order to facilitate contacts between stakeholders in various fields.

Following the visit, the parties confirmed their readiness to maintain active interaction at all levels to implement the outlined plans.
