Manufacturing, tourism, food outlined among priorities of Belarus’ cooperation with St. Petersburg

MINSK, 14 July (BelTA) –  Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin spoke about the priorities of trade and economic cooperation with St. Petersburg at a meeting with the delegation of the city headed by Governor Alexander Beglov in Minsk on 14 July, BelTA learned.

Aleksandr Turchin noted that the governor discussed all issues of bilateral cooperation with the president of Belarus. “St. Petersburg is one of the key partners of our country in the Russian Federation. I am grateful for your help in organizing many of our joint projects. I am sure that our work will be built in this way in the future,” he said addressing the governor.

The prime minister lauded cooperation between the parties in the manufacturing sector. “It is the driver of our trade: supplies of Belarusian equipment, joint projects. I think this is a promising areas. So is the supply of Belarusian food,” the Belarusian head of government said.

St. Petersburg is also one of the major partners of Belarus in terms of food supplies. Cooperation in this area has been on the growth track as well, the prime minister stated.

Aleksandr Turchin called tourism the next important avenue of cooperation between the parties. “St. Petersburg is a gem not only of the Russian Federation but of the whole world,” he said. “I visit the city whenever I have the opportunity. Every time I go, I discover something new in this beautiful city. Therefore, I think mutual tourist exchange will also be a very interesting area of cooperation, especially for residents of St. Petersburg and Belarus.”
