MINSK, 1 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Kazakhstan will expand cooperation in architecture, urban planning, and design, the Architecture and Construction Ministry press service told BelTA after the ministry’s delegation visited Kazakhstan.

The delegation was led by First Deputy Architecture and Construction Minister Vladimir Naumovich. The delegation also included representatives of organizations belonging to the ministry’s system (OAO Beryozastroymaterialy, OAO Keramin, OAO Gomelglass, OAO Spetszhelezobeton, OAO Mogilevliftmash, TOO Trading House Keramin-Astana, and other ones).

The itinerary was packed and included meetings and negotiations at the Industry and Construction Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Association of Real Estate Developers, construction companies, familiarization with the range of construction materials on the Kazakhstan market, and the construction of the Akzhurek residential complex.

The Belarusian delegation also visited the international construction expos Astana Build and Lift Expo Kazakhstan.

The sides discussed current matters and prospects of possible cooperation in architecture, urban planning, and design. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between OAO Gomelglass and TOO AralSoda. The Belarusian delegation also invited Kazakh partners to attend upcoming exhibition events due to take place in Belarus in autumn.

The Belarusian delegation studied in detail Kazakhstan’s achievements in the digitization of architectural and construction operations. A presentation of Belarus’ capabilities in supplying lift equipment and its aftersales service was also held.

“An agreement was reached to maintain contacts at the level of the relevant departments of the ministries,” Vladimir Naumovich said. “Representatives of Kazakhstan’s private sector showed genuine interest in cooperation with the Belarusian side. Trial deliveries of reinforced concrete products have been organized. Projects for shipping ceramic tiles and sanitary ware as well as window systems are being considered. Lift equipment and unique opportunities for its maintenance were proposed to Kazakhstan.”

In turn, the Belarusian side familiarized itself with the broad potential of Kazakhstan’s civil engineering industry. Partners widely use digital technologies in construction operations, both in design and in production and construction. Companies from both countries expressed wishes regarding mutually beneficial cooperation on the competitive terms that satisfy both sides.

The partners paid special attention to Belarusian capabilities in providing design and engineering services.

The Belarusian delegation visited a number of retail outlets and familiarized themselves with Belarusian construction products on the shelves. Prospects for further development and expansion of the product range were discussed.

At the end of the visit the Belarusian delegation familiarized itself with the construction of the Belarusian City Block, the first phase of which is scheduled for completion in September 2026.
