MINSK, 30 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) is exploring ways to boost Belarusian meat exports to Uzbekistan, the BUCE press service told BelTA.
Plans are in place to increase supplies of meat and meat products to Uzbekistan via the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) by deepening cooperation with Uzbek businesses at the regional level. This issue was discussed with representatives of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Uzbekistan’s Andijan Region, who expressed readiness to assist in boosting agricultural trade with Belarus through the BUCE platform.
According to Yaroslav Kovalchuk, Head of the Foreign Economic Activity Department at BUCE, in 2025 Belarusian meat products worth a total of $23.1 million were sold to Uzbekistan, a record high in the history of exchange trade between the two countries. Moreover, this year the exchange exports of meat to the Uzbek market is also showing positive dynamics.
“In Q1 2026, supplies of meat products to Uzbekistan increased by more than 4% in value terms. These were mainly frozen and chilled beef. The interest of Uzbek importers in the exchange platform is primarily driven by the fact that all of Belarus’ major meat processing enterprises participate in the auctions. This significantly streamlines procurement in the Belarusian market and allows for deals to be struck on more favorable terms,” Yaroslav Kovalchuk noted.
According to BUCE, in January-March 2026, exports of meat, meat semi-finished products and by-products via exchange trading reached $67 million, exceeding the January-March 2025 figure by 7%. The buyers included companies from Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
