Belarus’ vice premier: Labor Day symbolizes bond between generations

MINSK, 1 May (BelTA) – Labor Day symbolizes deep respect for working people, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich said during the celebrations in Victory Park in Minsk on 1 May, BelTA has learned.

“This holiday symbolizes deep respect for working people and the unbreakable bond between many generations of Belarusians. It also plays a consolidating role within our society, uniting workers across all professions, economic sectors, and regions. It brings together both those with many years of working experience and those just beginning their professional journeys,” Viktor Karankevich noted.
The vice premier stressed that traditionally on this day the country honors workers who have achieved commendable results. These include enterprises, labor collectives, labor veterans, trade union activists, and labor dynasties. “The head of state pays great attention to the development of our enterprises and economic sectors. It is through your selfless labor that food and energy security, as well as the industrial, scientific, and technological development of our economic and social sectors, have been ensured. All these efforts are aimed at creating more comfortable living conditions and improving the standard and quality of life for our citizens,” the deputy prime minister emphasized.
