MINSK, 30 April (BelTA) - Belarus has offered to assist Bangladesh with the mechanization of its agriculture. The issue was discussed during a meeting between Belarus’ Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India with concurrent accreditation to Bangladesh Mikhail Kasko, and Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives of Bangladesh Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The parties discussed a wide range of Belarusian-Bangladeshi cooperation topics, including opportunities to assist in the mechanization of Bangladesh’s agriculture and the supply of Belarusian municipal and road-building equipment,” the ministry’s press service said.
The Belarusian diplomat also held talks with Minister of Home Affairs Salahuddin Ahmed. The discussions focused on issues of law and order, law enforcement, security, and defense.
The meetings reaffirmed both parties’ mutual commitment to strengthening partnership ties.
Earlier, Mikhail Kasko met with representatives of the Bangladeshi government. The talks examined the prospects for developing Belarusian-Bangladeshi cooperation. The parties noted the continuity of friendly ties between Minsk and Dhaka and reaffirmed their commitment to further developing them.
Priority areas for the immediate future were identified, and issues concerning the improvement and expansion of the bilateral legal and treaty framework to facilitate contacts between stakeholders in various fields were also touched upon.
