Belarus boosts financial support for new businesses

MINSK, 1 May (BelTA) – As of 1 May 2026, state subsidies for starting one’s own business have been set at over Br10,000 and will remain in effect until 31 July 2026, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Labor and Social Protection Ministry.

The subsidy in urban areas now stands at Br5,605.82 (11 minimum subsistence budgets). In small towns, rural areas, and regions facing employment challenges, the payout rises to Br7,644.3, equivalent to 15 minimum subsistence budgets. The maximum grant of 20 minimum subsistence budgets, or Br10,192.4, is allocated to the unemployed for business activities involving the results of scientific research and development.

To receive the subsidy, an individual must be registered as unemployed with the employment service, be at least 18 years old, submit an application, and provide a business plan. Service specialists can assist in developing the plan.
