Aliaksandr Radzionau and Dzianis Salotskikh
MINSK, 8 December (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes Dzianis Salotskikh and Aliaksandr Radzionau got off to a winning start at the 2025 IBA Men’s World Boxing Championships in the United Arab Emirates, BelTA has learned.
In the tournament’s round of 32, Salotskikh defeated Papua New Guinea’s Aukoae Allan Oaike in the 57kg category, while Radzionau advanced past Murat Aydemir of Türkiye in the 71kg category. With these wins, all five Team Belarus boxers keep their medal hopes alive at the Worlds. The round of 16 matchups involving our athletes are as follows:
57kg: Dzianis Salotskikh vs. Masibulele Sigwela (South Africa);
67kg: Vadzim Vauchok vs. Vakhid Abbasov (Serbia);
71kg: Aliaksandr Radzionau vs. Ablaikhan Zhussupov (Kazakhstan);
86kg: Aliaksei Alfiorau vs. Parviz Karimov (Tajikistan);
+92kg: Uladzislau Smiahlikau vs. Arman Makhanov (Uzbekistan).
The second-round matches will take place on 9 December, with the finals scheduled for December 13. In total, the 2025 IBA Men’s World Boxing Championships has brought together over 420 athletes from 108 countries in Dubai.
