MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov will go to Tanzania on an official visit on 28-29 April, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

The visit’s itinerary includes meetings at the level of the government, trips to industrial zones, and the promotion of major infrastructure projects, the source said.

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has previously noted that Belarus sees Tanzania as a reliable and promising partner in the Eastern Africa region. “The economy can and must become the foundation of our interaction. Let us work together to boost trade, which volume is still quite low,” the Belarusian leader stated as he accepted credentials from foreign ambassadors on 10 April.

The Belarusian side is ready to finish work on setting up the joint committee on trade and economic cooperation as fast as possible. Belarus also looks forward to the arrival of the head of the National Assembly of Tanzania.
