MOSCOW, 27 April (BelTA) - On 27 April, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) adopted a package of amendments to the rules for determining the country of origin of certain types of goods to facilitate access to government procurement within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states, BelTA learned from the EEC press service.
Under the amendments, the Eurasian register of industrial goods will be expanded to include two new product categories: twine, including rope, cordage, and cables, as well as non-medical X-ray inspection systems. For one product category - fiber-optic cables - the conditions have been relaxed due to the complexities of manufacturing optical fibers in EAEU member states.
The amendments will enter into force 10 calendar days from the date of their official publication.
