ALMATY, 2 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko spoke about the progress made in the digitalization of industry and agro-industrial complex of Belarus at the Digital Almaty 2024 forum on 2 February, BelTA has learned.
“Digitalization of the real sector of the economy is very important for Belarus as an industrially developed country. The possibilities of the industrial Internet of Things, digital twins, new communication technologies are able to bring production to a new level, ensure the growth of labor productivity and competitiveness of products. A project is launched this year to develop an industrial digital platform at the country's basic enterprises, taking into account the Industry 4.0 concept. It will help integrate functional applications in industry and make the entire production cycle more automated,” Roman Golovchenko said.
For example, a monitoring and predictive analytics system has been implemented at BELAZ. The system monitors technical condition and generates data on the production process efficiency. Unmanned mining equipment based on the company's own software is being tested. A modeling mechanism to assemble quarry dump truck units using virtual reality technologies has been implemented.
As for the light industry, Roman Golovchenko stated that one of the shoe manufacturing enterprises had implemented robotic complexes of its own design with a high share of localization. These complexes synchronize production operations without human participation and optimally distribute raw materials. Completely unmanned technologies exclude crossing of interaction zones between people and hardware and software complexes due to the organization of shop floor logistics with the use of mobile robots. Robots independently analyze the quality of incoming tannery raw materials, which products they can be used for, taking into account the existing defects, automatically sort the raw materials and send them to the areas that are engaged in the production of products. Machine vision and resource allocation systems have been implemented there.
“We can see that digitalization technologies have an economic effect. Through digitalization processes, we achieve much greater results than by classical way of optimizing costs in production,” the prime minister said.
According to him, engineering efforts in the agro-industrial complex include precision farming technologies, robotized production operations, product labeling with traceability. Among the latest solutions are also smart warehouses, automated logistic operations, electronic document flow along all chains of product supply, including its cross-border movement.
