Ambassador: Serbia looks to Belarus’ healthcare expertise

MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) - Serbia is interested in Belarus’ experience in healthcare, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Serbia to Belarus Ilina Vukajlović told the media following her meeting with the Belarusian head of state on 4 May, BelTA has learned.
“Our relations in medicine are developing very well; our doctors and scientists are exchanging professional experience. I am glad to say that in Serbia, as in Belarus, not only medical science but also the healthcare sector in general is developing,” Ilina Vukajlović said. “We are interested in advanced technologies that already exist in Belarus, for example, CAR-T therapy, which helps patients with severe oncological diseases.”

The ambassador thanked Belarusian doctors for the medical care provided to Serbian citizens, which is delivered not only with high professionalism but also with deep care and respect.

According to Ilina Vukajlović, relations between Serbia and Belarus are generally developing steadily, and cooperation spans many areas, including not only medicine but also science, culture, and interpersonal ties. The ambassador separately highlighted the importance of regional cooperation.

Ilina Vukajlović also thanked Belarus for its principled position regarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia. “This sensitive and most important national issue is a priority. We greatly value the support of all countries that understand that for Serbia, dialogue is the main peaceful way to resolve this issue,” she added.
