Iranian Embassy in Minsk to open book of condolences for Ukrainian aircraft crash victims

MINSK, 9 January (BelTA) – The Iranian Embassy in Belarus will open a book of condolences for the victims of the Ukrainian aircraft crash in Tehran and for General Qassem Soleimani, BelTA learned from the Iranian diplomatic mission.

The book will be available for signing on 10 January from 10.00 to 13.00 at the embassy in Minsk, at 41A Starovilensky Trakt.

It was reported that on 8 January the Boeing 737 aircraft of the Ukraine International Airlines crashed shortly after takeoff from the Imam Khomeini airport in Tehran. There were 167 passengers and 9 crew on board. All the passengers were killed in the crash.

Iranian General Qassem Soleimani was killed in an U.S. airstrike near Baghdad. Iran has promised to take revenge. For his part, U.S. President Donald Trump promised to retaliate in a disproportionate manner should Iran strike any U.S. person or target.
