MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – The Healthcare of Belarus/ BelarusMedica exhibition demonstrates new trends of the healthcare sector, Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich told reporters, BelTA has learned.
“The exhibition is a very important event that shows development trends and tendencies common for all healthcare systems,” Dmitry Pinevich noted.
According to him, Belarus is set to launch a massive upgrade of its healthcare system. Therefore, the exhibition showcases new information technologies in public health. Moreover, the exhibition was preceded by a conference to discuss digital transformation of the Belarusian healthcare system (e-Health), which is named a strategic objective.
The minister recalled that the law on healthcare was revised not so long ago. Postgraduate education was among the spheres that underwent changes. Therefore, the exhibition features the stands of the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, universities and national research centers that will run clinical residency programs. “The pharmaceutical biotechnology sector is also striking,” the minister added.
Dmitry Pinevich also noted that the post-COVID period will be an era of novel diseases. In this regard, a huge number of exhibition pavilions are dedicated to the diagnosis of various diseases, screening.
“The situation is changing very fast, therefore we should be agile enough to respond to new challenges, including those related to the COVID infection. This is a good opportunity to discuss the problems that we should address now,” the minister said.
The exhibition will be of interest not only to healthcare professionals. “It can offer a lot of services for patients,” he said.
The Healthcare of Belarus 2021 international trade show features a large-scale exposition and an extensive business program. It has drawn the world's leading manufacturers of medical equipment, healthcare products, consumables, dental equipment and pharmaceuticals. The business program includes a number of training sessions, conferences, round tables, meetings and panel discussions, presentations and seminars to discuss current public health problems and ways to solve them.
The Healthcare of Belarus exhibition will be running on 18-20 May from 10.00 to 18.00, and on 21 May - from 10.00 to 14.00. It is located at 20/2 Pobeditelei Avenue.
This annual event is arranged by the Healthcare Ministry in collaboration with the exhibition company Technics and Communications (T&C).
