MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Brazil Andrei Andreyev held a meeting with Marise Ribeiro Nogueira, Head of the Special Advisory Office for International Affairs at the Ministry of Health of Brazil, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Brazil.
The parties discussed in detail issues of scientific and practical cooperation across a wide range of areas, including oncology, transplantology, surgery, as well as the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and tuberculosis.
Particular attention was paid to establishing direct cooperation between medical institutions of both countries in order to exchange experience and expertise.
Andrei Andreyev emphasized that Belarus and Brazil consider providing the population with accessible and high-quality medical care and medicines as one of the foremost priorities of state policy in the healthcare sector.
The systematic nature of national approaches to socially oriented healthcare opens up significant opportunities for cooperation both in a bilateral format and within BRICS.
