Lukashenko sends birthday greetings to Venezuela president

MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended birthday greetings to Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Thanks to your professional and personal qualities, life experience and selfless work as President, Venezuela continues to follow its own path of development, defending its sovereignty and independence with dignity,” the message of greetings reads.

The head of state emphasized the fruitful nature of cooperation between Minsk and Caracas, the indestructible foundation of which was laid during the time of Hugo Chavez. Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that the recent visit of his brother, Special Envoy of the President of Venezuela Adan Chavez to Belarus showed the interest of both sides in the resumption of large-scale intensive relations.

“I am convinced that the traditionally friendly relations between our peoples and the complementarity of our economies will help us in the shortest possible time to significantly intensify cooperation in a wide range of areas. I am grateful for Venezuela's solidarity with Belarus and unwavering support at international platforms, especially through the UN. There is no doubt that together we will be able to withstand any challenges and threats,” the president said.
