Lukashenko concludes working visit to Russia

VLADIVOSTOK, 13 April (BelTA) – The working visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Russia's Far East is over. The jet of the Belarusian head of state has left Vladivostok for Minsk, BelTA has learned.

Governor of Russia's Primorye Territory Oleg Kozhemyako and State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Dmitry Mezentsev accompanied Aleksandr Lukashenko to the airport.

Aleksandr Lukashenko held talks with Oleg Kozhemyako and visited a number of cultural and educational facilities on Russky Island together with the Primorye Territory governor. Belarusian construction specialists will help develop the infrastructure of the island and the city of Vladivostok.

On the island, Aleksandr Lukashenko also visited Far Eastern Federal University where he was told about advanced technological solutions developed by students as well as environmental projects.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also visited the Primorsky Aquarium education and research facility and answered questions of Belarusian and Russian journalists and talked about details of Belarus' cooperation with Russia's Far East.

On 12 April, Cosmonautics Day, Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of Russia Vladimir Putin visited the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Amur Oblast. The two heads of state discussed a broad range of matters, including space projects, trade, counteraction of the sanctions of the West, prices for hydrocarbon resources, and military security. The situation in the region and events in Ukraine were also discussed.

After the talks the presidents informed representatives of mass media in detail about the results of the talks and answered questions of the reporters.
