Lukashenko: Combat readiness is air defense personnel’s choice and calling

MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to military personnel and veterans of the air defense forces on their professional holiday, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Your choice and calling is to be constantly combat-ready. Courage, resilience, and high combat training are the qualities that have always distinguished air defense forces,” the message of greetings reads. “That was the case on the battlefields during the Great Patriotic War, and it remains so today, when air defense is a key component of the military security system and the country’s defensive capability, and the state’s ability to protect its airspace largely determines its sovereignty and independence.”

The head of state believes that events unfolding in the world show that the importance of well-equipped and well-trained air defense forces will only continue to grow. “Weapons are becoming more complex, the forms and methods of their use are changing, challenges and threats are intensifying, but the victorious traditions of the air defense forces, your professionalism, and your loyalty to the oath remain unchanged. As does the understanding that only you, today, by successfully accomplishing the tasks of protecting the nation’s air borders, can ensure a clean, peaceful sky over our native country,” the president emphasized.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished everyone good health, happiness, wellbeing, and new achievements in their military labor for the benefit of Belarus.
