MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) – President of the Jamestown Foundation Glen Howard believes that Belarusian-American relations are moving to a new level. Glen Howard made the relevant statement while talking to reporters after meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 6 November, BelTA has learned.

Glen Howard said: “In my opinion, Belarus-USA relations are moving to a new level and are being filled with more trust. This visit represents an excellent opportunity for the Jamestown Foundation to bring its security specialists here and hold negotiations with Belarusian colleagues and ministries.”

In his words, the recent visit to Belarus of U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Aaron Wess Mitchell will also allow advancing the bilateral contacts to a brand new level.

“The meeting with the Belarusian head of state was beyond my expectations. Every visit to Belarus is a very remarkable and joyful event. It is not the first visit to Belarus for many of us. It is the third visit for me. Besides, there are new faces here, too,” added Glen Howard.
