MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) - The Ukrainian people want peace, and it is entirely in the hands of the Ukrainian authorities, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov told Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“If a country like the USA continues to firmly declare its position of not supporting Ukraine’s militaristic aspirations and of compelling it towards peace, this is, of course, a very serious factor that both Europeans and Ukrainians will have to take into account. But, again, everything is essentially in the hands of the Ukrainian authorities alone. The Ukrainian people want peace,” Maxim Ryzhenkov said.
He added that Ukraine is being shaken by corruption scandals. According to the minister, this indicates a merging of the corrupt oligarchic systems of the European Union and Ukraine.
