Belarus’ ambassador presents credentials to president of Slovakia

MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Dapkiunas presented his credentials to President Peter Pellegrini of Slovakia on 29 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ceremony took place at the Grassalkovich Palace in Bratislava. Two of the ambassadors were assuming office for the first time. Peter Pellegrini wished the ambassadors success in their new mission. He expressed confidence that thanks to their efforts, relations between Slovakia and their countries will continue to deepen. The Slovak President also expected the ambassadors to seek further opportunities for mutual economic cooperation between the countries.

Andrei Dapkiunas has been appointed non-resident ambassador of Belarus to Slovakia in furtherance of mutual agreements and Minsk's aspirations to  develop and strengthen friendly relations between Belarus and Slovakia.

After the ceremony, the ambassador attended the annual reception on behalf of the president of Slovakia for heads of foreign diplomatic missions.
