MINSK, 2 January (BelTA) - The opportunities for early use of the family capital have been expanded in Belarus as from 1 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Labor and Social Security Ministry.
The ministry noted that the head of state extended the term of the family capital program for another 5 years: from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2029.
It is now possible to use funds ahead of schedule to purchase a stake (stakes) in residential premises if the family already owns shares in these residential premises. This rule applies to the repayment of the loans issued on the basis of the agreements to refinance the loans for the construction, reconstruction and purchase of residential premises.
It is possible to pay for education with family capital funds not only for the current and previous academic year, but also for the next one.
The list of products that can be purchased for family members with disabilities and visual impairments has been extended and now includes digital orientation and mobility assistants, acoustic assistive devices for navigation and assistive viewing devices (video systems that magnify the image).
The family capital is annually indexed to the consumer price index for the previous year. The new amount of the family capital effective from 1 January 2025 will be posted on the official website of the Labor and Social Security Ministry until 31 January 2025.
