MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – The terrorist attacks that Kiev commits on Russian territory are an attempt to exert psychological pressure on its negotiating partner, national security expert Aleksandr Tishchenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.

The expert recalled that Russia's strategic bomber fleet was attacked on 1 June, on the eve of the second round of negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations. In addition, terrorist attacks were committed on the railway in Kursk Oblast and Bryansk Oblast.

“Considering the fact that Kiev cannot achieve major gains on the battlefield, it carried out terrorist attacks on the night before the negotiations. This is the second time that Ukraine tried to flex muscles before the talks. The first round of negotiations also took place against the backdrop of a massive drone attack on Russian territory, and now there has been a strike on strategic airfields,” Aleksandr Tishchenko said.

In his opinion, this shows that Ukraine is not interested in negotiations as such, it only wants to gain some artificial advantage in these negotiations. “They are trying to sow fear not only among Russian citizens, but also among the negotiators. This is some kind of psychological pressure on the negotiating side,” Aleksandr Tishchenko added.
