Gomel to host conference on modern medicine

GOMEL, 6 May (BelTA) – The 13th nationwide conference for students and young scientists “Problems and Prospects of Modern Medicine Development” will take place at the Gomel State Medical University on 6-7 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the university.

The forum will unite more than 850 students and young scientists from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and other countries.

The forum will feature more than 540 reports. They cover almost all scientific areas: obstetrics and gynecology, human anatomy, histology, cytology, embryology, anesthesiology and resuscitation. Military, extreme, ecological, radiation, forensic and sports medicine will also be discussed. Works on microbiology, virology, immunology, neurology, psychiatry, oncology, and many more have been prepared ahead of the forum.

The COVID-19 topic will also be discussed at the forum. For example, there will be reports on modern possibilities for vaccine prophylaxis of actual infections in adults, on LONG COVID in a doctor's practice, and the role of X-ray imaging methods in the diagnosis of lung lesions because of COVID-19.

The conference has been organized by the Healthcare Ministry and the Gomel State Medical University.
