MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – Former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valery Zaluzhny, understands that the center of decision-making on Ukraine has shifted from London to Washington, member of the Another Ukraine movement, former deputy of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Spiridon Kilinkarov said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“Zaluzhny has recently given an interview where he criticized Zelensky. Many don’t understand why now, and why in an American publication [Time magazine]. Zaluzhny, as Ukraine’s Ambassador to the UK, understands that the center of decision-making on Ukraine has shifted from London to Washington,” said Spiridon Kilinkarov. “He understands that something needs to be done about this. That’s why Zaluzhny gave an interview to an American publication criticizing Zelensky, thereby trying to signal to the Americans that he is ready to work with them.”

The former Verkhovna Rada deputy noted that during Joe Biden’s presidency, the U.S. somewhat relaxed its focus on the Ukrainian conflict, a situation the British immediately took advantage of. “Now the Americans are forced to jostle with the British to gain control of political processes within Ukraine itself. And Donald Trump is demonstrating this. It must be said, he is succeeding in many ways,” concluded Spiridon Kilinkarov.
