Newly appointed vice-premier outlines key priorities in his position

MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – Aleksandr Terekhov, who was appointed by the head of state as Deputy Prime Minister, outlined his tasks in the new position, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Terekhov will oversee construction, housing and utilities, and transport in the government. Upon his appointment, Aleksandr Terekhov was instructed to strengthen oversight of increasing housing construction volumes, improving quality, and creating and developing infrastructure.

“In the housing and utilities sector, there are certainly issues of major repairs, creating a comfortable environment in courtyards, parks, and public spaces. This is what people need and what the country lives by,” the deputy prime minister said. He also highlighted the development of agro-towns and satellite cities in terms of housing construction and improving transport links.
When asked whether new approaches would be introduced in his work, Aleksandr Terekhov noted that the first step is to review previously adopted decisions: “Some adjustments may be necessary, and they should be made. But all of this must be aimed solely at improvement.”
