MINSK, 21 January (BelTA) - The Development Bank of Belarus detailed which joint projects between Belarus and Tanzania will receive its financial backing.

A Tanzanian delegation, headed by Mohamed Said Kiluwa, owner of the Kiluwa Group, visited Belarus and toured major machinery plants and government offices. Partners from the East African nation were presented with efficient cooperation models, including export financing tools from the Development Bank. “We greatly appreciate Tanzania’s ambitious national programs and see strong potential for enhanced collaboration in key fields: engineering, healthcare, food production, and tourism. In pursuit of fully realizing joint plans and diversifying bilateral economic relations, the Development Bank stands ready to offer full financial backing for future contracts,” Sergei Stolyarchuk, Chairman of the Development Bank’s Board, stated.

He presented various models of export support and emphasized that the development institution’s experience in financing supplies of agricultural machinery, food products, and implementing other joint projects with African countries has long been tested and has already proven its economic efficiency and reliability.

The delegation from Tanzania assessed the capabilities of the Development Bank. “During our visit to Belarus, we examined the latest machinery and were impressed by its efficiency and the country’s overall customer-focused approach. We are interested in importing a wide range of Belarusian-made agricultural and utilities equipment, potentially with the support of the Development Bank,” said Mohamed Kiluwa.

The parties agreed to specify projects for which the export support of the Development Bank will become one of the success factors.
