MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) – The all-weather and all-round strategic partnership between Belarus and China opens up wide opportunities to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation in cross-border e-commerce, Zhang Hongping, Chairwoman of the Board of the Xinjiang Asia-Europe International Material Trade Center (AEEX) said as she took part in the exchange forum held in the run-up to the 25th annual general meeting of the International Association of Exchanges (IAE), the press service of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) told BelTA.

BUCE is the host and co-organizer of the event.

"Undoubtedly, China is the largest player in the global e-commerce market today. Our exchange, as one of the representatives of this rapidly developing industry, is ready to share its experience, technologies, and expertise with our Belarusian colleagues," Zhang Hongping said. "In turn, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange has strong competencies in exchange trading and the necessary digital infrastructure to efficiently facilitate cross-border buying and selling operations."

According to the Chinese expert, uniting the efforts of trading platforms under the auspices of the International Association of Exchanges will not only strengthen Belarus-China trade and economic relations and boost mutual trade but also simplify access for Belarusian and Chinese enterprises to the markets of other SCO countries.

As part of bilateral cooperation, AEEX and BUCE plan to develop several e-commerce projects to provide businesses in Belarus and China with an one-stop service which will allow addressing trade, insurance, financing, and logistics issues. The Belarusian and Chinese exchanges also intend to cooperate in marketing to jointly promote Belarusian products in China.

Founded in  September 2010, AEEX became the first international exchange in China to offer a comprehensive service for organizing cross-border trade in goods with Central Asian countries and member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Currently, AEEX facilitates the trade of energy resources, agricultural products, and industrial chemicals.
