MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus Roman Golovchenko held a meeting with Chief Investment Officer of the Oman Investment Authority Ibrahim Al Eisri on 9 April, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus pays significant attention to developing bilateral relations with Oman, which it views as one of its key strategic partners in the region. Our countries enjoy a high level of friendly relations in the political, trade and economic areas. The agreements reached at the level of our heads of state allow us to significantly intensify our cooperation and move forward in areas of mutual interest. Only last week, the first meeting of the Belarus-Oman joint committee on cooperation and investment was held in Muscat, and today in Minsk we are already discussing bilateral cooperation and concrete initiatives,” Roman Golovchenko said.
The head of the National Bank emphasized progress on a number of major projects planned for implementation in Belarus with the participation of the Oman Investment Authority. “We are open to any proposals you may have: in investment, in trade and economic cooperation, and in the banking sector. We count on the activation of bilateral relations, understanding that there are no issues between us that cannot be resolved,” he emphasized.
Ibrahim Al Eisri noted that the agency’s goal is to develop long-term partnerships, provide comprehensive investment support, and promote the sustainable growth of its partners. “As Oman’s main investment agency, we have an extensive network of more than 15 regional offices around the world. An office has also been opened in Belarus, and a team of professionals has been formed to work effectively on the local market. We are ready to consider a wide range of cooperation formats, using not only our own resources as investments but also the capabilities of leading investors. Under the strategic leadership of the president of the Oman Investment Authority, for whom this project has become a personal priority, we intend to launch one of our key initiatives: the creation of the so-called food basket of the future,” he said.
“Given that Belarus has rich land and water resources, we plan to develop large-scale projects capable not only of bringing our countries closer together but also of delivering significant commercial benefits for all participants,” Ibrahim Al Eisri concluded.
