MINSK, 30 December (BelTA) – Belarus aims to produce 2.1 million tonnes of oil in 2026, Belorusneft Director General Aleksandr Lyakhov told the media, BelTA has learned.
“We confidently look towards tomorrow. The company’s plans for 2026 include extracting 2.1 million tonnes of oil and further increasing oil production in the next five-year period to a level of 2.3 million tons by 2030,” the Belorusneft director general outlined the targets.
Aleksandr Lyakhov emphasized that the company’s team is set for hard work. “People understand that reaching these milestones will not be easy. But overall, we see that the approaches we have implemented will yield results. And we have a serious determination to achieve great heights for our company and for the country as a whole,” he assured.
Speaking about the technologies enabling the increase in volumes, the Belorusneft director general stressed: “These are primarily technologies related to the construction of horizontal wells, well completion with multistage, high-volume hydraulic fracturing. This has allowed us to develop reserves that were previously untapped in old fields. For example, the Rechitsa oil field, the largest in the Republic of Belarus.”
Aleksandr Lyakhov also commented on the digitalization of the industry. “Practically our entire operational landscape is already digitalized today. And, of course, we have the Digital Field project, which integrates all production facilities, all geological assets of our company. We are actively digitalizing drilling, geological exploration, and geology in general because these involve vast arrays of data. Digitalization enables increased forecast accuracy. And the extraction of 2 million tonnes of oil is also part of our success [in 2025],” the head of the company noted.
