Belarus' world number 20 Aryna Sabalenka raised the 2018 Wuhan Open trophy after defeating Estonia's world number 27 Anett Kontaveit 6-3, 6-3 in the final on 29 September.

In the fourth round the Belarusian men's team of Vladislav Kovalev, Sergei Zhigalko, Kirill Stupak and Aleksei Fedorov beat Kazakhstan 2,5:1,5. Belarus women's team won with the same score against Turkmenistan.
