MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – Trade between Belarus and Russia reached about $53 billion in 2023, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a ceremony to open the Belarus-Bashkortostan business forum, BelTA has learned.
“In a way, the events around our states have pushed us to strengthen bilateral ties. These external challenges and threats have brought our countries closer and we have enhanced the integration processes,” the prime minister said.
According to him, the trade between Belarus and Russia totaled about $53 billion in 2023. “We have become closer to each other. We have exceeded the high result of last year by 6%. This is a great success, which does not come out of thin air. It is small steps, which we take at various events, conferences, meetings and negotiations, that translate into big trade,” Roman Golovchenko said.
