OMAN, 5 December (BelTA) – The new Belarusian logistics hub in Oman will facilitate the promotion of Belarusian goods to markets in Africa and Asia and beyond, President of the Oman Investment Authority Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi told journalists, BelTA has learned.
Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi noted that the hub’s creation was discussed during the recent meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. The hub will help promote Belarusian goods on the markets in Africa and Asia and beyond. When asked about Oman’s vision for the project, he emphasized logistics as the critical element for supplying any product.
The president of the Oman Investment Authority also outlined the strategic advantages Oman sees in collaborating with Belarus, stating that Muscat seeks to capitalize on its partnership with Minsk.
“We have already accomplished a great deal in our cooperation. First and foremost, we have built a foundation of trust between our countries. Our teams are performing excellently in developing bilateral projects. Belarus and Oman complement each other: certain resources are found in Oman, others in Belarus. Moreover, we are united by shared values, which gives us confidence in the future of our relations,” he remarked.
He also emphasized Oman’s readiness for trilateral cooperation. Specifically, discussions focused on a large-scale potash fertilizer production project involving Algeria and Oman, a proposal put forward by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. “Indeed, we are open to trilateral cooperation in third countries. Regarding Algeria, we recognize it possesses cost-efficient resources, including natural gas. We could jointly explore the possibility of establishing some form of production of complex fertilizers,” stated Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi.
