MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) – Anastasiya Kolosovskaya, appointed Rector of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts by the head of state on 3 March, spoke to journalists about introducing a practice-oriented approach to student education, BelTA has learned.

“Our goal is to breathe new life into the Academy. We have the right people for it: experienced professionals eager to share their expertise with the next generation, with our finest young talents. Going forward, our strategy will focus on strengthening ties with Belarusfilm studio and fostering consolidation within the Academy itself,” Anastasiya Kolosovskaya said.
The new rector noted that in 2026, the educational institution has an “interesting first year.” She was referring to students who will study feature film direction. “They are now fully immersed in the film production process. Their classes are conducted by a director, a sound engineer, animators – people who directly work in production. This will allow them to understand the system of future work,” Anastasiya Kolosovskaya believes.
