MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) – The second power unit of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant has generated 20 billion kWh of electricity, the plant told BelTA.

“The second power unit of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant has generated 20 billion kWh of electricity since it was integrated into the county’s unified energy system on 13 May 2023. In total, the Belarusian NPP has generated more than 57 billion kWh,” the plant noted.

The Belarusian nuclear power plant with two VVER-1200 reactors with a total output capacity of 2,400MW has been built according to the Russian design AES-2006. It is an evolutionary nuclear power plant design with third-generation water-moderated reactors with enhanced safety. They boast improved technical and economic parameters.
