MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Tajikistan have confirmed mutual interest in further advancement of practical cooperation and have agreed to maintain contacts. This is an important result of the visit of a delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan led by the Sughd Region chairperson and comprising representatives of the private sector to Belarus on 22-24 April, the Embassy of Tajikistan in Belarus told BelTA.
The guests from Tajikistan visited a number of leading industrial and agribusiness enterprises in Mogilev Oblast and Minsk Oblast. In particular, fact-finding visits took place to Agrokombinat Dzerzhinskiy, Minsk Leather Production Association, OAO Svitanak, SZAO BELGEE, OAO Novus Industry, IOOO Mebelain, and OOO Bair West.
During the visits the Tajik delegation examined in detail the manufacturing capabilities of the enterprises, the technologies they use, the organization of manufacturing processes, and the product range. The Belarusian side presented the capabilities of the enterprises for increasing export potential and expanding cooperation with partners from the Republic of Tajikistan.
Special attention was paid to the prospects of establishing direct industrial cooperation ties, implementing joint investment projects, and localizing certain types of manufacturing while taking into account the mutual interests of the parties. Apart from that, a thorough exchange of opinions took place about matters related to expanding product shipments, introducing modern solutions into raw material processing, and improving the efficiency of interaction between commercial entities.
“As a result of the visits the parties confirmed mutual interest in further advancement of practical cooperation and agreed to maintain contacts at the level of business circles with a view to working out specific areas of interaction,” the Embassy of Tajikistan in Belarus noted.
