MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) – The delegation of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino) will be able to see the openness, friendliness, and peaceful nature of Belarus during their visit to the country, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko said at a meeting with Parlatino President Rolando González Patricio in Minsk on 23 April, BelTA has learned.
The speaker noted: “Since 2016, we have been observers in your respected organization, and we are grateful for that. We take part in events, meetings are held regularly. Cooperation has been established through bilateral contacts with the parliaments of Latin American countries.”
Belarus maintains relations with almost all Latin American states, and the parties can speak about developing cooperation in economy, manufacturing, transport, and agriculture.“I believe Belarus’ experience will be of interest to many Latin American countries,” Igor Sergeyenko continued. “Our country’s experience in developing science, the education system, healthcare, and many other areas will also be valuable. As parliamentarians, we can cooperate through parliamentary diplomacy as well.”

Rolando González Patricio thanked the Belarusian side for the invitation and the opportunity to visit Belarus, noting that he had already felt the country’s hospitality.
“We live not only in a time of turbulence in the political, climate, and economic areas. We live in a crisis. Therefore, the interparliamentary ties that exist, including between Belarus and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, must contribute to overcoming various challenges and strengthening our cooperation to achieve common goals,” the Parlatino president said.
