MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Transactions by companies from Russia’s Bryansk Oblast at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) increased by almost a third in 2025, the BUCE press service told BelTA.
The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange and the Bryansk Oblast Chamber of Commerce and Industry have approved a plan and priority areas for joint work within the cooperation agreement signed in 2025. According to the reached agreements, priority will be given to popularizing the exchange mechanism among small and medium-sized enterprises of Bryansk Oblast. To this end, it is planned to systematize the holding of webinars and online conferences on exchange trading issues for the Bryansk Oblast business community, as well as to organize regular business missions to Belarus with visits to the BUCE head office. This format of interaction ensures high efficiency, as it is directly focused on potential users of BUCE instruments.
Furthermore, 2025 clearly demonstrated the positive impact of close cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the exchange on the exchange trade between Belarus and Bryansk Oblast. According to BUCE data, last year, exchange trading participants from Bryansk Oblast concluded exchange transactions totaling $18.4 million, which is 27% more than in 2024. Goods purchased in Belarus included powdered milk, butter, aerated concrete blocks, lumber, and peat briquettes, while mainly spare parts and components for machinery and equipment were sold.
A presentation of capabilities of the Belarusian commodity exchange was also given at the annual Belarusian-Russian business meeting Sodruzhestvo. The presentation addressed the instruments available at BUCE for conducting sales and procurement activities, as well as the system for monitoring the fulfillment of obligations under exchange transactions. Additionally, the prospects of using the BUCE platform for supplying sheet glass to Bryansk Oblast were examined in detail.
Founded in 2004, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange conducted its first trading session in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises with export and foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. BUCE sells a wide range of metal, forestry and agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods.
