Prize pools of ISU European Figure Skating Championships in Minsk announced

MINSK, 4 December (BelTA) – Winners in the men's and ladies' singles events of the ISU European Figure Skating Championships which is due in Minsk on 21-27 January 2019 will get $21,000 each, BelTA learned from the website of the International Skating Union (ISU).

The prize money for silver will make up $16,000 and that for bronze - $11,000. The prize money in pairs and ice dancing events will make up $30,000, $20,000 and $12,000.

According to the Belarusian Skating Union, Minsk expects many prominent figure skaters. Ticket prices for the upcoming sport forum will be much lower than for similar tournaments in other countries.

In Belarus, the all-event packages will range from Br100 to Br250, which is three to four times lower than the ticket programs of the European championships over the past ten years. The most expensive single-event tickets will be Br50 (a gala concert), which is almost two times cheaper as compared to the previous championships. The cost of single-event tickets will start from Br30, the pass to training sessions from Br5.

“The organizing committee of the European Figure Skating Championships did its best to make the ticket program affordable to everyone. The event in Minsk will gather leaders of the national teams of Russia, Italy, France, Spain and other leading European countries. This is a unique opportunity for the Belarusian audience to see the European leading athletes,” Chairwoman of the Belarusian Skating Union Yulia Komleva said.

The 2019 ISU European Figure Skating Championships will take place in the Belarusian capital on 21-27 January. The first two days will feature official training sessions. The competitive program will start on 23 January. The tournament will wrap up with a traditional gala concert featuring winners and medalists.
