Maryia Mamashuk 5th at World Wrestling Championships in Oslo

MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) – Maryia Mamashuk of Belarus placed fifth in the women's 65kg event at the World Wrestling Championships 2021 in Oslo, Norway, BelTA has learned.

The London Games silver medalist lost to Forrest Ann Molinari of the United States 1-12. The second bronze medal went to Malin Mattsson of Sweden. The event was won by Irina Ringaci of Moldova who solved Japan's Miwa Morikawa 8-6.

The women's 50kg event was won by Remina Yoshimoto of Japan who defeated Sarah Ann Hildebrandt of the United States. Bronze medals went to Russia's Nadezhda Sokolova and Otgonjargal Dolgorjav of Mongolia.

Akari Fujinami of Japan won the 53kg event. Silver went to Iulia Leorda of Moldova. Bronze medals were collected by Samantha Stewart of Canada and Poland's Katarzyna Krawczyk.

The victory in the 76kg event was celebrated by Adeline Gray of the United States who beat Estonia's Epp Maee 6-4. Bronze medals went to Aiperi Medet Kyzy of Kyrgyzstan and Egypt's Samar Amer Ibrahim Hamza.
