MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes Aryian Tiutrin and Islam Guseinov won bronze medals at the 2026 European Wrestling Championships in Albania, BelTA has learned.
In freestyle wrestling, Aryian Tiutrin reached the podium in the lightest weight category (-57kg). He opened with a win over Yusuf Demir of Türkiye but was defeated by Islam Bazarganov of Azerbaijan in the quarterfinals. The Belarusian then bounced back to take the bronze medal match, beating Georgia’s Robert Dingashvili. In 2025, Tiutrin also finished third at the European Championships.
Islam Guseinov secured a medal in the -65kg weight category. At the start of the tournament, the Belarusian wrestler beat Pavel Graur of Moldova and Gamzatgadzhi Khalidov of Hungary, then lost to Islam Dudaev of Albania in the semifinals. In the bronze medal bout, the representative of Belarus defeated Ahmet Duman of Türkiye.
