MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) - Alina Shauchuk has advanced to the finals at the 2026 European Wrestling Championships in Tirana, Albania, BelTA has learned.
In the first round, Alina Shauchuk defeated Karolina Domaszuk from Poland at 68kg. In the quarterfinal, she beat Hungary's Noémi Szabados. In the semifinal, she beat Romania's Kateryna Zelenykh. The Belarusian will face Nesrin Bas from Türkiye in the gold medal match on 23 April. Alina Shauchuk is the reigning European champion in both the youth and adult categories.
Four Belarusian women stepped onto the mat on 22 April. Marta Hetmanava (up to 59kg) advanced to the bronze medal match. Natallia Varakina (up to 50kg) lost in the quarterfinal. Anastasiya Zimiankova (up to 76kg) lost in the qualification round. On 23 April, four more Belarusian athletes will step onto the mat at the European wrestling championships.
