Belarus' Minsk twins with Turkey's Gaziantep

MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – Belarus' Minsk and Turkey's Gaziantep have signed an agreement to establish twinning relations, BelTA learned from the Minsk City Hall.

The ceremony took place during the visit of Minsk delegation led by Minsk Vice Mayor Alexander Krepak to Turkey. The Minsk delegation also met with Gaziantep Mayor Fatma Sahin to discuss prospects of cooperation in municipal services, education, sport and tourism.

Representatives of the Minsk City Hall took part in the First Gaziantep Festival of Gastronomy which was held on 20-22 September. Minsk displayed dishes of the Belarusian cuisine.

Apart from Gaziantep, Minsk has 27 twin cities, including Abu Dhabi (UAE), Ankara (Turkey), Bangalore (India), Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Bonn (Germany), Havana (Cuba), Dushanbe (Tajikistan), Islamabad (Pakistan), Chisinau (Moldova), Lyon (France), Lodz (Poland), Kaluga, Murmansk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Ulyanovsk, Ufa (Russia), Nottingham (the UK), Beijing, Changchun, Shenzhen (China), Sendai (Japan), Tbilisi (Georgia), Tehran (Iran), Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam), Eindhoven (Netherlands).
