Lukashenko supports China-Brazil peace plan to end conflict in Ukraine

MINSK, 26 October (BelTA) – Belarus welcomes China and Brazil joining the attempts to peacefully resolve the conflict in Ukraine, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said in an interview with the Central Television show on the NTV channel on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, BelTA has learned.

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, China and Brazil are not rivals of Russia, but want a peaceful resolution of the conflict. Now both the countries are promoting a jointly developed peace plan to resolve the armed conflict in Ukraine. “I support the participation of China and Brazil in this process,” the Belarusian leader said.

The issues, such as territorial delimitation, cessation of hostilities and withdrawal of troops from the line of contact, must be resolved between the parties to the conflict at the negotiating table, the president said.

“The most important thing now is to bring everyone to the negotiating table,” the head of state stressed. China and Brazil are pursuing the same goal, he added.
