MFA: Nicaragua is a promising partner for Belarus

MINSK, 19 July (BelTA) – Nicaragua is a promising partner for Belarus, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Lukashevich told reporters, BelTA has learned.

“Our delegation led by the prime minister arrived from Cuba to Nicaragua having great expectations. Nicaragua holds a lot of promise as a partner. We are looking forward to meaningful meetings and negotiations on a wide range of avenues of cooperation. They include business meetings and individual negotiations on supplies of Belarusian products, like tractors and automotive equipment. Meetings at the highest level will also be held. We arrived to a very warm welcome. We enjoy our stay here and we have something to offer to this country,” said Sergei Lukashevich.

He noted that Nicaragua’s economy keeps growing at a good pace. “Nicaragua is running a number of infrastructure projects that are important not only for Central America, but also for the entire planet. In particular, the country is going to dig a new canal. And we believe that this country should have our machinery. Roman Aleksandrovich [Golovchenko] spoke about this at preliminary negotiations. A number of talks between government agencies, institutions and factories are scheduled for today,” the first deputy minister remarked.

Earlier, Roman Golovchenko paid an official visit to Venezuela and Cuba. The work to promote cooperation with the far arc countries continues in Nicaragua. According to the Belarusian head of government, the main goal is to lay a solid foundation for cooperation with these countries.
